An article in Physics Today, named ¡°Physics flourishes in Hong Kong¡±, introduces the physics community in Hong Kong. A photograph of Hong Kong Convection Cell in our group (see below) was selected as a representative image and included in the article. The guy in the image is Li-Yuan Ren, a Ph.D. student in our group. (PDF)

SUN Chao in our group was awarded with ¡°2006 Hong Kong Young Scientist Award for Physical/Mathematical Science¡±.
The awards reward young scientists and engineers in Hong Kong who show great promise in their field of study, with the hope that this will nurture the growth of science and technology in the region.
Three awards will be given annually at the HKIS Annual Meeting (usually held in October/November.
